One of the first things people ask me is, "How long have you been stamping?" I started stamping 25 years ago, when I wondered into an Inkadinkadoo store and fell in love. Browsing the stamps on display, I thought, "I should make the invitations for my parents' Silver Anniversary." Never mind the fact that I'd never stamped before, or made a handmade card. Boy, did I have a lot to learn! I wanted to heat emboss and didn't have a heat tool. Well, I tried a hairdrier and that didn't work. So I got out a pair of tongs and held the cards of the element on my electric stove! I can't even begin to tell you how many singed cards and fingers I ended up with. Then, I hand colored this beautiful embossed heart with a bouquet of flowers. I wish I had one to show you just how far I've come in my crafting!
This year, my parents are celebrating their GOLDEN anniversary. 50 years is a long time and not many marriages last that long anymore. Through the years, their love for each other and for our family, has carried us through the good times, and the bad. They are our rock and our foundation. And it is so incredible to share this anniversary with them this summer.
In the meantime, I'm working on some ideas for a special card. This delicate gate fold card might be just the answer.
