We drove to the North Carolina mountains to celebrate Easter and belated birthday with the Lad yesterday. It's a 3 hour drive (or 2 1/2 the way my father drives!) and it's amazing to see the difference in seasons. Spring is awakening here...the hyacinths are finished and the daffodils are on their last legs. What tulips the deer haven't eaten are opening up to show their pretty colors and a nest of birds has taken up residence in the rain gutter just above my front door steps. And everything is beginning to be covered in that fine, gritty green pollen.
In the mountains, it's still winter. There isn't much color yet, except for grays and browns. No birds were chirping, and while it was a warm 50F for them, it was 20 degrees colder up there than it was down in the Piedmont foothills where we live. Strange, it wasn't so apparent driving up the mountains, as it was coming back down. It was like we were driving back into a technicolor world.
So...today's cards are FULL of color! Sweet & Simple...it's simply some gorgeous Sweet & Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper with a simple stamped sentiment. Thank you...thank you for reading...thank you for your support...and thank you, for just being you!
