It has been a whirlwind few weeks here at Making Memories. And as the holidays come to an end, the Lad has fallen to the evil clutches of whatever sickness has plagued my parents, brother-in-law, and nephew over Christmas. I'm off to the store to pick up kleenex, apple juice, ginger ale, applesauce, and a chicken. It seems that our New Year will be spent quietly at home, getting plenty of fluids and rest.
So...today, I will leave you with my favorite 12 cards from 2018. Which one do you like best? Name your favorite in the comment section below.

Two cards...same design...same look...but WAIT! One stands out more than the other. What makes the one on the right different? It is framed by a Whisper White Layer between the card and the Happiness Blooms Memories and More Card.
In the Occasions Catalog there are Night of Navy Cards and Envelopes to accompany the Happiness Blooms Memories and More Card Pack. They come in two sizes, 6" x 4" and 3" x 4", making card making even easier than before.
And while there is absolutely nothing wrong with the card on the left, with just a few quick snips, you can take your card from good to great by framing the card with a layer underneath. It doesn't even require any stamping! (Do you think it still qualifies for #simplestamping?) Which one do you like better?
Both the Happiness Blooms Memories and More Card Pack and Night of Navy Cards & Envelopes are in the 2019 Occasions Catalog, and are available starting January 3.
Base: Happiness Blooms (Night of Navy) 3" x 4" Cards & Envelopes from the Occasions Catalog
Layer 1: Whisper White, 2 7/8" x 3 7/8"
Layer 2: Happiness Blooms Memories & More Card, 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"

Merry Christmas! I wish you and your family the very best of the holiday season.
This week in San Diego has been amazing. It's times like these I realize that we live too far away from my sister and her family. The kids are growing so quickly and I would love to see them more than two to three times a year. I can't thank my sister and her husband enough for such a wonderful family Christmas.
This week's card certainly got me out of my comfort zone. I am not into messy crafts. I may make a mess in my craft room on a daily basis, but I don't like messy crafts. I especially don't like powders - embossing powder and Brusho are on the top of my list. It's really a texture thing...and the fact that it gets all over. But...if use the 12" x 12" backing that comes in a pack of designer series paper and use some washi tape to tape your paper to it, you can pretty much control the mess. And, you get the added bonus of not having your paper curl up when it gets wet.
Want to play along with the CASE-ing Tuesday group?
Makeover the card (pictured above). You can change a lot, a little or make the card just as it is in the catalog. Then post it to the Facebook thread. We can’t wait to see your cards. You can use the following hashtag if you post your card elsewhere on Facebook #CASEingtuesday179.
Hint: When working with Brusho, use a larger piece of cardstock than is necessary. This not only gives you margins for when you secure it with the washi tape (see above), but it also allows you to have a bigger surface to chose from when cutting your layer.
Base: Whisper White Thick Cardstock, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Layer 1: Basic Black
Layer 2: Shimmery White Cardstock: 5 1/4" x 4"
Snowflakes: Silver Glimmer and Foil
Banner: 3/4" x 3"
