Welcome to the Creative Inking September Blog Hop. I am so excited! This holiday catalog is amazing. I've been designing & crafting with it sine August and it truly is the best holiday catalog ever! There's so many amazing stamp sets, bundles, kits, and accessories, I've actually found myself wishing the holiday season lasted just a little bit longer.
This weekend, is my big Stamping in the Mountains Retreat. After months of planning, we're all ready to create and share together and all 5 classes will feature products from the holiday catalog .
From fall through the New Year, the Stampin' Up! holiday catalog has something for everyone. Why don't I show you what I mean? Take a look....
Let's see what everyone else made this month.

I have a very simple, but valuable tip for you today. Heat embossing is a very fast way to make a big impression. And it's great when stamping on a dark cardstock layer, like I did here with the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Many Blessings Stamp Set.
I'm not a big fan of heat embossing because, if you aren't careful, that fine powder can get everywhere, leaving a very gritty work surface. I can't stand a gritty work surface and I have to stop everything and clean it up.
On a scale of 1-10, heat embossing is probably a 8 or 9 on the WoW! factor scale. However, it can make a downright mess and ruin your project if you don't turn your ceiling fan off first! (Ask me one day how I know this!) Trust me on this. You'll be glad you did!

September Christmas Card Club
Last weekend I was honored to be a guest teacher at my friend, Selene Kempton's, retreat up in Massachusetts. It's always fun going up there and sharing my passion for paper crafting. This is the third time I've done this, and it's wonderful to reconnect with friends I've made, and make new ones along the way.
I loved having a Christmas in August theme, too! It was so much fun combining the Stylish Christmas Stamp Set and Under the Mistletoe Designer Series paper for a 12-card Stamp-a-Stack. I was thankful I'd chosen Sweet & Simple designs, since the electricity went out during my 2nd class! Thank goodness for resourcefulness and iPhones. With a few strategically placed flashlights, we were back stamping, albeit in the dark.
I came home with THREE remaining packets. Each packet includes:
Base: Real Red, 11" x 4 1/4", scored at 5 1/2"
Layer 1: Basic Black, 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Layer 2: Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper, 5" x 3 3/4"
Layer 3: Vellum, 5" x 3 3/4"
Layer 4: Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper, Starburst Punch
Layer 5: Whisper White 2" Circle Punch
August 2018 -
It's never too early to for snowmen! And this little guy from the new Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set is just so cheerful. And he's super easy to color with Stampin' Blends. I used Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy, but I can't wait to be creative and use different color combinations.
This card was made for the Creative Inking Blog Hop. This month, we had to make a card based on the below sketch. I was at a paper crafting retreat this weekend and this little guy is one of the projects I worked on, as well as Christmas cards and tags. It's never to early to start your holiday crafting!
*The Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set is found in the 2018 Holiday Catalog, and will be available starting on September 5th.
Let's see what everyone else made this month.
