This stamp from the See a Silhouette Suite bundle brings back so many memories. When I was a little girl, I could spend hours on the swing set. I remember my sister and I swinging so high that the legs of our swing set lifted right up off the ground and Daddy had to anchor it down in case we pulled it over. My grandmother told us stories of how, as a girl, she had swung so high, she'd gone clear around the top of the swing set. Clearly questionable, but oh did we believe and try to emulate her! I remember swinging at the park the day after high school graduation as a friend of mine and I contemplated the scary new rode ahead. And I'll never forget the look on my 1st graders eyes when I raced them to the swing at recess on the first warm day of spring. "Miss Michelle...you can swing?" It was pure joy to to play with them...plus, from that vantage point I could keep an eye on my mischievous 3rd grade boys, too.
The pure innocence in this simple stamp plus the See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper, full of rich, warm colors, evokes feelings of summertime and sunshine. Those carefree days we so long to capture even today. If I could tell my younger self just one thing, it would be to " Go confidently in the direction of your dreams" - and never lose the joy that you had swinging on the swings.

Today is day 4 of my Bags & Boxes series. So cute...so delightful..and so easy to make. Today uses a 6" x 6" piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, and it's surprisingly large for such a small piece of paper. Both pieces are non-directional, making it almost foolproof. You don't have to worry about whether or not your going to have upside down images when you assemble your treat bag.

I couldn't end my week of OnStage without showing you my final swap. This one was for my Stamping Bee team swap at dinner on Friday night. We had so much fun! We invited the Craftastics team to join us and 20 of us went to dinner at Pike's Old Fashioned Soda Shop. We had so much fun...wish you could have been there with us!
My card today uses the Tropcial Chic Stamp Set. Since the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper is retiring, I chose to stamp the background using Pear Pizazz, Bermuda Bay, and Highland Heather instead of using the paper.
Speaking of retiring paper...ALL the Designer Series Paper is retiring this year. Take a look and see which one's you need before they're all gone.

I hibernate in the summer time. I used to joke that I had reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder. And one day, I found out there really is such a thing! It seems I'm not the only person to feel stressed and depressed in the summer. The heat and the humidity are so oppressive to me, that I just hide inside in the a/c. It's just too sunny! I don't want to go anywhere or do anything, unless it involves shade and a screened porch.
Come fall though, that's a completely different story. The humidity breaks and I'm rejuvenated. The sun isn't burning directly overhead, and there's a freshness in the air. I live for the day I can turn off the a/c and open up the house to let the fresh air in.
Fall is a time of cleaning for me too. It's a time to count my blessings, and be thankful for who and what I have in my life. It's a time to purge and go through cabinets and closets that seem to be bursting at the seams. I started this weekend in my kitchen. I'd be challenged by a friend to begin intentionally living, and in order to do that, we must intentionally remove the physical clutter around us. When our environment is clean and beautiful, we can live cleanly and intentionally.
It's been a big chore to clean and purge my kitchen. I'm spent several hours going through every cabinet and pantry shelf. Everything has been wiped clean. I know where everything is, and have a good sense of what foodstuffs I have. Does anyone need an extra jar of curry powder or thyme? How about some non-fat sweetened condensed milk? If a zombie apocolypse happens, I've got you covered on all 3 accounts because I've found multiples scattered throughout my kitchen! And truly, how silly is that? I don't like curry powder; and I only use sweetened condensed milk and thyme at the holidays.
This week, we're counting our blessings and cultivating thankfulness with the Many Blessings Stamp Set. Remember to post a comment on today's blog for your chance to win a DIY Card Kit every day this September. (Offer valid to US Residents Only).
