I received a text from a friend this weekend, with the news of a frightening diagnosis. She has a strong support system in place, a faith as deep as a river, and is doing all the right things to follow up and take care of herself. She's been in the forefront of my mind this week and last night, I just new I had to make her a card to show her I'm thinking of her.
We've all experienced that. A phone call...an email...a text...a conversation with news that rocks our world. Where once, everything was right and in the blink of an eye, there's news so completely unexpected, creating a problem we didn't even know existed. We're left shaken to the core and wonder how we'll ever get out of this wrinkle in time. But through hope and faith, we find our strength to get up and carry on. We do what needs to be done, finding comfort in others who are there with support and love.
With faith, all things are possible.
I couldn't decide between the Oh My Stars and Ruffled embossing folders. Which do you like best?

I have a friend, Debbie Mason, who loves sea turtles. She's a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator and is living in Florida for a short time while her husband manages a project there. She's found a way to pass the time by volunteering at the Turtle Yard at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach. When I saw this Beachy Little Christmas Stamp Set, I immediately thought of her. Then, when she said she'd send me some cards she made with that set, I was thrilled.
What's especially lovely about Debbie's card is the heat embossing on her Christmas tree. It's hard to see in a photo, since the branches are so delicate. But the Copper Embossing Powder just shines, and adds that special glittery Christmas magic. She hand colored all the little ornaments, too. Who says you need snow at Christmas? (OK...maybe that was me!)
Have a wonderful day!

Oh...such a busy weekend! I may need another cup of coffee to make it through Monday morning!
Saturday, I hosted a big 16-card holiday catalog kick off meeting for my Stamping Bee Team. I teamed up with my mentor, Selene Kempton for this quarterly meeting and WOW! was it amazing! We ran the meeting in two places - mine in North Carolina and hers up in Massachusetts. There was a lot stamping going on this weekend. Everyone left with at least 16 completed cards, ready to share with family and friends, or use as class templates of their own during the holiday season.
We spent Sunday at my parents' house. The hubs mowed their grass while I spent several hours helping my mother clean out her closet. We filled two HUGE suitcases with clothes to donate to the local PTA Thrift Store. We decided to leave her dresser for another day. Then I found out she has a whole other closet upstairs that needs to be gone through, too. I guess those suitcases need to be emptied before we can start the next round.
Today's card was not part of the 16-cards. But it does use the Merry Patterns Stamp Set, which I gave away as a raffle prize for anyone who brought a display board to share with the group. Speaking of giving away...did you know that the Merry Patterns Stamp Set is part of the September/October host Promotion and is free with any qualifying order ($300). That $300 can be an individual order, or it can be a class order. I just started playing with this new set last night, and it's so much fun! it pairs wonderfully with all of our holiday designer papers, including the city scene from the Christmas Around the World pack. To get your Free Merry Patterns Stamp Set, contact me today to place an order, or schedule your October card class. (This stamp set is not available for purchase, and is only available until 10/31!)

Oooooh...foil! There's something about the holidays that call for shiny, sparkly things - tinsel, lights, ribbons, and bows. And foil wrapping paper! These are just part of my favorite holiday things. When I saw the Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper, I knew this was exactly what I needed to add some festive sparkle to our holidays this year. And instead of focusing on just one or two metallics, Stampin' Up! decided to go ALL OUT! There's copper, gold, silver AND the new champagne foils with warm pink under tones in the whole Year of Cheer Suite.
Here's a peak of these beautiful foil papers:
But wait? Isn't the Holiday Stamp Camp called "Year of Cheer?"
Yes! You've probably guess by now that theNovember 4th Year of Cheer Holiday Stamp Camp is going to showcase the elegant Year of Cheer suite. I've teamed up with fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator and designer Julia Sharpe Fair, to create a Winter Wonderland of cards, projects, and home decor items that will WOW! family and friends alike.
The idea of Stamp Camp came to me about a year ago. I know we're all super busy, especially around the holidays and I wanted to provide a full day of crafting fun, day set aside, just for you. No husbands or kids demanding your time; no phone calls or internet; no errands to run or houses to clean. I wanted to this to be a special day to pamper, surprise, and delight you with dedicate holiday crafting time. Last year, I had 4 people attend. This year's camp has tripled attendance and is getting bigger all the time!
Want to know more? Here are the details:
What are the add on classes? These are extra classes that you can sign up for throughout the day. Feedback from my summer Stamp Camp asked for more stamping, so that's what we're going to do! Classes are an additional $30 each, and includes all the materials you need to complete them. I should have them all ready to announce next week, but here's one Julia has designed for us.
Time: 10:00 am
Teacher: My very good friend and fellow demonstrator, Julia Sharpe Fair
RSVP and Prepay: by September 30th
I can't wait to take this class. The projects are even prettier in person! And they're going to be so pretty on my mantle and tree!
Won't you join us? There are still seats available. The deadline for early bird registration ($65) is today, 9/15. Regular registration ($69) closes on 9/30 . Email me today to reserve your spot, or with questions.
