Take a break from the weather and do something creative. Crafting relieves stress and takes our mind off the rest of the world. Go ahead, give yourself permission to take care of you today. You'll be glad you did!
Today's Crafty Saturday Card features the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper from the 2018 annual catalog, with a sentiment from the Falling for Leaves Stamp Set found in 2018 holiday catalog.
There is a correction in the video below. In the video, I said I was 50 - $50 orders away from earning the incentive trip to Greece. I was wrong. I'm less than 20 orders away!!! I guess I needed more coffee before filming this morning.

I have a very simple, but valuable tip for you today. Heat embossing is a very fast way to make a big impression. And it's great when stamping on a dark cardstock layer, like I did here with the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Many Blessings Stamp Set.
I'm not a big fan of heat embossing because, if you aren't careful, that fine powder can get everywhere, leaving a very gritty work surface. I can't stand a gritty work surface and I have to stop everything and clean it up.
On a scale of 1-10, heat embossing is probably a 8 or 9 on the WoW! factor scale. However, it can make a downright mess and ruin your project if you don't turn your ceiling fan off first! (Ask me one day how I know this!) Trust me on this. You'll be glad you did!

Happy First Day of September! I look forward to this day all summer. Why? Because that means, I can officially start my fall and holiday crafting!
Today's Crafty Saturday Facebook Live event was full of information and stamping fun. It featured the new Many Blessings Stamp Set, which was inspired by Million Sales Achiever Ruth Snyder. This set is just perfect since it can be used throughout the fall and Christmas holiday season. If you had to choose just one stamp set from the new holiday catalog, this would be it! Speaking of the new catalog...it goes love on September 5th. Need a copy? Let me know!
There were a few announcements on today's Crafty Saturday Facebook Live:
Finally...I announced a NEW BLOG CONTEST! Throughout the month of September, leave me a blog comment on the blog post of the day. Each morning, I'll randomly draw a name to win a DIY Card Kit from me. Kits will include 6 card bases and coordinating Designer Series Paper. For example, leave a comment on Today's September 1st Blog, and on Monday, September 3rd, I'll choose a winner from those comments only. Kits will be mailed out on the Monday the following week. (***Contest valid for U.S. residents only. )
Phew.... I think that was everything! I hope you enjoy your Labor Day weekend. Go out and have some fun. You deserve it!

As many of you know, I took my sister with me on the Stampin' Up! incentive cruise to Alaska. The morning we cruised the fjords was simply amazing. Since we had our own balcony stateroom, we ordered room service and spent the morning sipping coffee and having breakfast, surrounded by the rugged beauty of the glacier. We had two sea days ahead of us, and after two full days of Alaskan excursions, we were ready to take it easy and relax and enjoy the scenery. I'd anticipated and planned for this, and brought out the June 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Broadway Star. We went up to the Viking Crown Lounge, grabbed a table up front at the windows, and crafted while we cruised, watching for whales off the bow of the ship.
I love the ease and portability of Paper Pumpkins when I'm traveling. This isn't the first time I've grabbed one of those iconic orange boxes and tucked it into my carry on. They're compact, light weight, but boy are they full of fun! Take a look for yourself.
This particular card is going out to Heather, one of my Stamping Bees. She hit her first milestone yesterday and I couldn't be more proud of her! Hip! Hip! Hooray for Heather!
I love celebrating my Stamping Bee Team. They're such an amazing and talented group of crafters. Won't you join us? I'd be happy to welcome you to the team!
August 2018 -
What would you do if you're teaching at a retreat and the whole town, not just the hotel, goes dark? Do you give up and cancel class? No...you grab a couple i-phones and just keep stamping. My 1 1/2 hour class may have turned into 3 hours, but no one was complaining. After all, the whole hotel was without power; I had a captive audience and we had no place to go. It truly was a night of "Making Memories with Michelle"!
Today's project is not one we did at retreat, but one that I used as little treats for my classes last Sunday. These Envelope Punch Board Tea Bag Holders are Sweet & Simple and make perfect teacher gifts, get well gifts, or even something quick and easy for craft fair season. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Remember to join me next week when Crafty Saturday returns to our regular live broadcast.
Happy Stamping everyone...and make it a Crafty Weekend!
