A few months ago, my friend and Stampin' Up! mentor, Selene Kempton, asked me to teach a class at her spring retreat . I was thrilled and excited to have this opportunity. I quickly set to work searching for the perfect class to teach. I fell in love with the So Succulent bundle, and after consulting with Selene, we was decided I would present a succulent grapevine wreath.
So, last Thursday the Hubs and I left Chapel Hill at 6 am and spent the next 16 hours driving up north Billerica, MA. Selene met us in the lobby of the Courtyard, and as soon as we walked into our room, Selene we saw a lovely welcome gift for both of us.
The next morning, we woke to a special delight. It was snowing!! We left green, icky pollen season and ventured up north to a lovely spring snow.
From fun and thoughtful gifts all weekend, to meeting and making new friends, the weekend was nonstop fun ...and stamping. It was hard to say goodbye tonight and while I'm not looking forward to our long drive home tomorrow, I am so thankful for this amazing opportunity to share and craft with an amazing group of people.
A special thanks to Selene for inviting me to participate in her retreat. The gifts she gave at retreat are nothing compared to her friendship, support and encouragement along my stamping journey. What started as a fun hobby is turning into so much more. I'm going home exhausted, but full of ideas for my next retreat and Stamping Cruise!
If you've ever been on a cruise before, you'll know that before the ship departs, there is always a wedding happening on board. While the majority of the ship is busy exploring the Lido deck and the buffet, there are wedding ceremonies happening in various areas of the ship. It's always so much fun to see the brides later, as they make their way through the ship in their gowns.
Packing for a cruise or a destination wedding would require an amazing attention to detail. You still want the day to be beautiful and memorable, but you just don't have the room to pack a lot of stuff. Large favors and thank you gifts take up precious space. These delicate and detailed floral treat bags would be just the thing. Not to big or bulky, you could pack several of these without them taking up a lot of room.
I wonder how many brides we'll see on our October 2017 Stamping Cruise? Have you gotten your tickets yet? Don't miss out on your chance to craft and cruise your way through the Western Caribbean on the Oasis of the Seas. Imagine...a whole week where all your meals and cleaning are done for you, so you can craft away to your heart's content for an entire week in our private conference room. Relax, enjoy, and have fun! There will be four exclusive classes, with all the supplies you need, included. The rest of the time, explore the ship, sit by the pool, visit new places, see a show, and make new friends. Husbands, friends, significant others are welcome to cruise, too. The Hubs will be joining us, and I'm sure he'll spend the week at the pool and exploring the sights.

It's Birthday Week here in the Irinyi house. The Lad turns 21 next week and I'm getting ready for the festivities. Last night, I made these tall gift boxes from my favorite box and bag designer, Sam Hammond. TheLift Me Up Sale-a-Bration paper is perfect for birthdays, too. Isn't it cheery? And since it's retiring soon, I thought I better use it while I can!
Stay tuned for the next week as we get ready to get Carried Away celebrating!
"There's an ice cream machine!" On our first cruise, the Lad was 14 years old. And I don't know what he liked more - the water slides or the ice cream machine. Every time I turned around, he and grandma had an ice cream cone in their hand. Imagine, having a soft serve ice cream any time of the day, without asking permission. It was a young boy's dream come true. In fact, we laughed as we left the ship five days later, that we'd probably all go through ice cream withdrawals. (And we did!) The Lad's girlfriend is on a spring break cruise this week. And yes, she'd already texted him that she'd found the ice cream machine before they even set sail.
Having all-you-can-eat ice cream is just one of the many reasons I love cruising. And being creative and sharing my love of stamping with others is why I love teaching card making classes. Being able to combine cruising and stamping is like a dream vacation for me. And I invite you all to join me on the 2017 Stamping Cruise. Visiting exotic ports, eating ice cream, sitting by the pool, watching a show, and crafting for a week while all the cooking and cleaning are taken care of for you sounds like my idea of paradise.

A friend of mine recently had a baby. Rather than a traditional card, I wanted to give her something to commemorate this special occasion. The Moon Baby Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog made a great window frame collage. These simple line drawings really lend themselves well to to hand coloring. Here, I did some watercloloring using Stampin' Write Markers and Aqua Painters on Shimmery White Cardstock.
