This past summer, my 9-year old niece was visiting from San Diego, and it just so happened that she was here during one of my Kit Nights. Both she and my sister were excited to come, but my 4-year old nephew was having no part of sitting still and while we were all crafting. So, he and Mommie went to one of the parks in the neighborhood, and my niece and I had a wonderful aunty-&-me craft night working on the Be Merry Kit together.
When I received this kit, I had no idea what a huge hit the rosettes would be this holiday season. They are super trendy right now and this kit has taken all of the guess work out of making them; all of the scoring and folding has already been done for you! The kit includes:

If you guessed 160, you'd be right! In just 2 1/2 hours, 11 women made 160 Christmas cards using the Watercolor Christmas kit to share with family and friends. And some were donated for holiday visitations for local shut-ins. It was a great evening, with a big pot of homemade chili and a fabulous chocolate pie for dessert. (You know, I have a hard time even typing the words, "chocolate pie" after reading The Help). And you know what was the greatest hit last night? Embossing the red Christmas Wishes cards and the envelope flaps with the Holly and Winter Wonder embossing folders!
This is my third Christmas Season as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. the Watercolor Christmas kit is by far the most popular. Last night was my fourth class with it! I think what is so appealing is how quickly the cards come together. This kit is made with the beginning stamper in mind; stamp the sentiments, and adhere the pieces. Easy peasy. BUT...you can easily step them up by embossing, sponging the edges of the sentiments, or adding more embellishments. As you can see, the photos in the instructions were used as a mere suggestion last night as everyone got creative . Like snowflakes, no two were exactly the same!
The Watercolor Christmas kit makes 20 cards, 5 each of 4 designs for making your handmade Christmas cards without a lot of muss or fuss. It's the perfect solution to a girls' night out, or for crafting on the go. Get yours today before supplies run out.
One of my favorite things to do is introduce new people to stamping. And the Watercolor Christmas Kit in theHoliday Catalog is perfect for the novice and experience crafter alike.
This kit contains enough to make 20 full-size Christmas cards! Before I joined Stampin' Up!, that would have been all I needed to send to close family and friends. What really makes this kit stand out is the gold-foil lined envelopes, too. Such a festive touch for the holiday season.
You can choose to make the cards just as the kit shows...
Or step them up a notch by embossing the red card base with the Big Shot. We used the big Winter Wonder (snowflake) embossing folder on ours last week. We had 12 women, emboss all 5 of their red cards, and they turned out beautifully. It added a little antique or rustic touch, and the results were just amazing. They can't wait to share their cards with family and friends.

Summer days, lazy days...late blog days! My apologies if this doesn't post at it's normal time. My niece and nephew are visiting from California and when they are here, all sense of common time are out the window! They are so much fun to be around. Yesterday, we went to see Cars 3 at a matinee. Then rushed home to have a quick bite to eat, and then swam until bedtime. Well, it was dark at least. We left the pool with my 4-year old nephew wanting to know what was for dinner! They are just so full of energy! Always on the go. They're here for one more week and I can't wait to see what new adventures await us this week.
Can you believe this is the first time I've used the Sheltering Tree stamp set? I know, I know...it's on everyone's favorites list, but I just now bought it. And I'm go glad I did. This quick card took me no time at all and it reminds me of summer.
I had a studio full of friends last night. No, I didn't have a class. Rosie, my helper stopped by to help me prep a class, and then Pam stopped by to bring me some Touches of Nature Elements and Gold Faceted Gems that I forgot to get at Stamp Camp a week ago. As we were sitting and working in the studio, I had this overwhelming sense of, "Yes. This is exactly what I've been building. A place for friends to gather, laugh, share, and be together." It was such a wonderful evening and one I will hold onto for years to come.
