One of my favorite Christmas party memories is standing around a piano, drinking holiday beverages, and singing Christmas carols. I'd just started my first teaching job and it was my first grown up holiday work party. The drama teacher happily volunteered to play the piano and we all gathered around, just like a Norman Rockwell painting, singing our favorite carols. When we got to Silent Night, this ,most spontaneous and marvelous thing happened; those of us who could, started singing it in a different language. Being the French teacher, I sang in French, then the Spanish teacher, and the German teacher. The sweet sound of of Franz Gruber's simple words being sung in a host of languages moved us to tears. Silent Night. Holy Night. All is calm. All is bright. When we got to the end of the verse, the piano faded to silence, and so did we. It was the perfect end to our caroling, and a memory I hold in my heart to this day.
This is what I thought of when I saw the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper this year. The titles of familiar carols in many languages remind us that we all celebrate the joy of the season together. This paper is a lighter weight than other Stampin' Up! papers, which makes it just perfect for cards with several layers, like this one, or for lining envelopes. And, there's 24 sheets in a pack; it's like getting 2 packs for 1!

Sometimes we all just need a little pick-me-up, right? This card was my entry for my team sketch challenge last week. The Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper has some super cute designs and I had a hard time deciding whether to use the dionsaurs or the cute woodland animals. Not only does this paper have some tiny and cute designs, it's also got great background patterns, too. Add in some bold colors, and you, too, will have a hard time, "Picking a Pattern" to use!

***Michelle's tip: A little bit of ink goes a long way! You don't need to saturate your sponge. Simply tap it a few times in the ink pad, and use a gentle "flicking" or brushing motion against the edge of the paper, to give it a nice, defined outline.
