Yes, I know. I just had to go there with the whole "bet your giraffe" thing. But see, my Monday started at 3:15 am when the dogs had to go outside!!! Apparently all that fun and excitement at the dog park yesterday hadn't worn them out enough and they were up and ready to go before the sun came up this morning! Needless to say, it's going to be a LONG DAY!
But...being awake that early got me thinking. It's time for a giveaway! I have one set of cards from yesterday's Truly Tailored Sweet & Simple Class that I would *LOVE* to send to one lucky follower. You'll get the full 4-card kit + full-color PDF directions on how to assemble our cards.
The rules are simple and posted below. Click here to visit my YouTube Channel. One lucky winner will be randomly chosen on Friday, 5/11. Good luck! And may the odds be ever in your favor!
Today's card is the card I used as my masculine card swap for my Stamping Bee team meeting yesterday. It's also going to be the one I use for the Stamping Bee team twice monthly creative challenge. The card features the new Animal Outing stamp set, that will be available June 2 in the new catalog. I borrow the small birthday sentiment from At Home with You stamp set; it was just the right size!
The Stamping Bee team has so much fun together! Last night, we met at a local pizza joint and swapped cards, ooh'd and aah'd over some awesome show-and-tell projects (Thanks, Rosie and Sharon!), and stamped 4 cards using the new Share What You Love early release bundles. Everyone got a chance to use the new Grapefruit Grove ink pad, with the new designed case. All of that, for only $5! Then, most of us stayed behind and shared dinner together.
Would you like to join us? Our next Stamping Bee team meeting is Sunday, June 10 @ 5 pm. First time guests are welcome to attend for Free! Come check us out at Village Pizza and Pasta in Chapel Hill. Email me if you plan to attend so I have enough kits to go around.

Life's Short...Live it with Zest! And I certainly did just that this weekend. I left the house at 8:30 am with two of my Stamping Bee Team mates on a 8 hour road trip to Atlanta for the Stampin' Up! OnStage Local event. With just a short stop for lunch, we made it to Atlanta at 4:30. That was just enough time to change clothes and grab a quick drink in the bar before the Center Stage Leadership event! Not only did we have a scrumptious meal with more Stampin' friends, but everyone at Center Stage got a preview of the new catalog before everyone else!
The next morning was early as Julia's alarm went off at 5:30 am! But we had to get ready and check out of the room before heading back to the ballroom at the Cobb Galleria. I was part of Prize Patrol and had so much fun giving out prizes to people who were waiting in line or sitting at tables ready for the event to start. It's amazing what a smile a bolt of ribbon or embellishments can muster!
One of the things I love about any Stampin' Up! event is the opportunity to swap with fellow demonstrators. I participated in two organized swaps this time. Both swaps were specific to only using products which are carrying over into the new catalog, like the Lemon Zest stamp set and coordinating punch. I love how a seemingly simple stamp set like Lemon Zest can have so many different variations!
OnStage was awesome! and I can't wait to place my new catalog preorder! I've got my wish list almost ready. Ok, who am I kidding? You know I want it ALL!

Are you like me? Know a holiday is coming up, make all sorts of plans to decorate and then, life happens and all of a sudden, it's the holiday and you have nothing to show for it? Maybe it's due to the fact that I don't have any little ones around to be excited and countdown the days until the holidays.
Whether you're a 'procraftinator' like myself, or whether your 'Easter Tree' and inflatable bunnies have been up all of Lent, these cute little Easter treat baskets will be a hit. They're the perfect size for place settings, too. I think they're just for Robin's Eggs and Jordan Almonds.
What will you put in your basket???
Before I forget...Sale-a-Bration ends TODAY! Today is the last day to:
For Basket: 6" x 6" cardstock or specialty designer series paper, scored at 2" and 4" on two sides
For handle: 11" x 1/2", slightly curled with bone folder
Sweet & Simple Card Class: Sunday 4/8 @ 2 pm.
Or #craftwhenyouwant and have it delivered right to your door.
Have you seen theFlirty Flowers Stamp Set in the annual catalog? It's the one I used for my goodie bag class at the Stampin' at the Beach retreat a few weeks ago. It's a cute set, but easily over looked. I knew there was more to this set than meets the eye, so I invited Amy Bryson, a demonstrator from my Stamping Bee Team, to have fun and be creative with the set. Other than providing her with the stamp set, watercolor pencils, a blender pen, and some organza ribbon, I left it up to her to decide what to create.
I think she was a little concerned when she realized there weren't manyFlirty Flowers samples out on Pinterest. But...she rose to the task and create a dozen floral cards, note cards, and tags that are absolutely stunning! This one was certainly a favorite of everyone at retreat! I'd say she rose to the challenge, wouldn't you?

2. Using a blender pen, pick up the color from the tips of the Watercolor Pencils and fill in the flowers.
3. Adhere Layers 2 & 3 and wrap with Whisper White Organza Ribbon and tie with a knot.
4. Add to base.

I'm in the last few days of prepping for myStamping at the Beach weekend retreat which starts next Friday. I also have a very busy weekend this weekend, which doesn't leave me with a lot of time. Tomorrow, we have tickets to go see Phantom of the Opera. We got the tickets for Christmas from my parents and I've really been looking forward to it. This weekend is also 2nd Sunday. I have my Sweet & Simple Class in my studio at 2 pm, and a Stamping Bee Team Meeting. It's going to be a BIG meeting, too! We have 12 people coming with 10 of us swapping!
So, with 4 retreat classes, a card class on Sunday , AND a Stamping Bee Team Meeting, I desperately needed to com up with a quick, Sweet & Simple card for my swap! We always have a swap theme and this month is flowers. I have many floral stamp sets, but when I'm in a pinch, I always turn to Stampin' Up!'s amazing designer series paper. I had just 10 sheets left of the Petal Garden 6" x 6" stack - PEREFECT! Trim it to 5" x 3 3/4", and then cut at 2", flip, and you've got a lovely bold pattern and accent piece. Add a ribbon and a cute punched sentiment and you're done! Once again, it doesn't have to be complicated to be beautiful. Sweet & simple wins for me every time.
It feels good to use up paper, especially since the designer series paper stacks will be retiring this spring. I like to get the most out of my collection as I can, to make room for new colors and patterns! Speaking of which, now is the great time to stock up on the 2016-2018 In Colors before they retire, too. The ink pads and reinkers are always the first to go once the retirement list is out! I always buy the reinkers when I buy my ink pads. Protect your investment and be sure to stock up before the retirement list comes out.
