I'm feeling behind this Christmas season. There aren't any presents under the tree; they're all still in boxes in my office. You have to climb over them to get to the printer! I haven't done any baking, and my grocery shopping list gets bigger by the minute. And the Lad comes home for Christmas tomorrow night. Time to get it together and get this Christmas in full swing.
I have been busy crafting, though. Today, I'm putting 100 swaps in the mail. And my cards for next Saturday's Bingo are all designed, as are the cards for the Big Occasions & Sale-a-Bration KickOff Party on the the 6th. My sample display boards are almost full and my head is full of design ideas for my 2nd Sunday Sweet & Simple Class (Jan. 14), as well as my Stamping Bee Team Champagne Celebration and team meeting. What fun! So much to look forward to in the New Year!
Whether you're hitting the mall for some last minute shopping, rolling out another batch of cookie dough, or getting ready to bake some pies, take a deep breath and remember to breathe. You've got this! Enjoy the season and fill your heart and home with love, not stress. And most of all, I wish you a lovely day.

3. Stamp sentiment in Rich Razzleberry onto Layer 4. Adhere to Layer 3.

As I was cleaning my studio last night, finding room on the shelves for all my new Occasions and Sale-a-bration products, these little birds just spoke to me. This is the Flying Home Stamp Set from the Occasions catalog (available Jan 3), is one of the sets I got in November at OnStage, and in the back of my head, I've been wondering just what I was going to do with it. I normally start with a card sketch in my head and work around it. This time though, I started with the stamped image and the new Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.
First, I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. It dries quickly and doesn't smear or run with the Blends. Coloring is so soothing; once my mind calmed down, I was able to visualize the rest of the sketch. I found a small piece of the Foil Frenzy Specialty Paper, and knew in an instant that had to be my background. Using a small piece like this, adds some sparkle and shine without being the focal piece of the card.
Once I was finished, it needed just a wee bit more. There aren't any sentiments in the Flying Home Stamp Set, so I set about finding just the perfect one. And wouldn't you know it, Sheltering Tree had just what it needed.
I can't wait to share from the upcoming Occasions and Sale-a-bration with you.

I received a text from a friend this weekend, with the news of a frightening diagnosis. She has a strong support system in place, a faith as deep as a river, and is doing all the right things to follow up and take care of herself. She's been in the forefront of my mind this week and last night, I just new I had to make her a card to show her I'm thinking of her.
We've all experienced that. A phone call...an email...a text...a conversation with news that rocks our world. Where once, everything was right and in the blink of an eye, there's news so completely unexpected, creating a problem we didn't even know existed. We're left shaken to the core and wonder how we'll ever get out of this wrinkle in time. But through hope and faith, we find our strength to get up and carry on. We do what needs to be done, finding comfort in others who are there with support and love.
With faith, all things are possible.
I couldn't decide between the Oh My Stars and Ruffled embossing folders. Which do you like best?

The Scenic Sayings stamp set was on my "Must Have" list last year, and is retiring at the end of May. I'm pretty sure I bought it just for the "Oh Happy Day" sentiment! And as you can see, I used it a lot! It was just the perfect size and could be used a a nice variety of happy occasions.
And the set made perfect thank you cards, too!
Sadly, the Serene Scenery paper is all sold out, but the navy and white Floral Boutique and Seaside Shore papers are still available. Inventory is low though, so order your soon! The Scenic Sayings stamp set will be available through the end of May. Click the links below to view the full retiring list.

When I read Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop featuring the Eastern Palace Suite, I thought Allison Okamitsu's card was stunning! I decided to CASE it, putting my own special twist on it. I love how she used the combinations of Eastern Medallions cut out to showcase and highlight the Eastern Palace Designer Paper behind them. I added my own special twist by adding the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers to the center of the two medallions, and little ones scattered in some of the empty white space. Don't you love how the sentiment curves around the medallion? I think it fit's just beautifully. For the base, I used Dapper Denim, with a layer of Daffodil Delight in between it and the top layer.
The Eastern Palace Suite is available starting May 1st. And on May 7th, I'm hosting my monthly Coffee & Cards class where you can come try these amazing products yourself. This class will be cut and ready for you to assemble....I'll do all the work and you have the all fun! And if you bring a friend and both of you make 8 cards each.
