The Scenic Sayings stamp set was on my "Must Have" list last year, and is retiring at the end of May. I'm pretty sure I bought it just for the "Oh Happy Day" sentiment! And as you can see, I used it a lot! It was just the perfect size and could be used a a nice variety of happy occasions.
And the set made perfect thank you cards, too!
Sadly, the Serene Scenery paper is all sold out, but the navy and white Floral Boutique and Seaside Shore papers are still available. Inventory is low though, so order your soon! The Scenic Sayings stamp set will be available through the end of May. Click the links below to view the full retiring list.

When I read Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop featuring the Eastern Palace Suite, I thought Allison Okamitsu's card was stunning! I decided to CASE it, putting my own special twist on it. I love how she used the combinations of Eastern Medallions cut out to showcase and highlight the Eastern Palace Designer Paper behind them. I added my own special twist by adding the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers to the center of the two medallions, and little ones scattered in some of the empty white space. Don't you love how the sentiment curves around the medallion? I think it fit's just beautifully. For the base, I used Dapper Denim, with a layer of Daffodil Delight in between it and the top layer.

This card took me less than 10 minutes to make, too. It's just a single layer of Shimmery White cardstock. I stamped the image in Basic Gray Archival Ink, and then, using my Aqua Painters, I water colored him using my Blushing Bride Ink Pad. Then, I used my Old Olive and Calyspso Coral Watercolor Pencils to add a bit of color to the grass, leaf, and flower. In no time at all, you have a quick card that will brighten someone's day.

I first hear about paper piecing from my mother. She was learning a new quilting technique and was thrilled to discover how fast paper piecing was compared to other methods. I really hadn't made the connection to paper crafts though, until I saw some on Pinterest. It opened up a whole new world of design for me.
This last weekend at the beach, I spent a lot of time working with the Beautiful You stamp set and a variety of designer series papers. I like them all, but the one using red and white Sending Love paper one is by far my favorite. She'd make a perfect Valentine's card for your mother, sister, or best friend.
Paper Piecing is a two-step process. First, stamp your image on cardstock. Then, stamp the same image onto designer series patterned paper. Carefully trim the parts you wish to keep, in this case, the dresses and hats, and adhere them directly to the image on the cardstock. I used Tombow liquid glue so I could have a little maneuverability to align the pieces just so.
Cutting and Measurements:
Base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Whisper White
Layer 1: Real Red 5 3/8 x 4 1/8" Real Red
Layer 2: Whisper White 5 1/4" x 4"
Layer 3: Real Red 5 1/8 x 3 7/8"
Layer 4: Whisper White 5" x 3 3/4"
Layer 5: Sending Love Designer Series Paper
Layer 6: White and Silver 3/8" metallic ribbon
Putting it All Together
1. Stamp images in Basic Black Archival Ink onto Layer 4 and onto designer paper. Cut images out of designer paper and adhere to cardstock images.
2. Adhere layers 1-5 and wrap ribbon around them, tying a bow in the lower right hand corner.
3. Adhere to base.
