You're the greatest! Who among us doesn't need to be told that? We all need to belong, and know that someone, somewhere thinks we're the greatest. The greatest daughter. The greatest mom. The greatest son. The greatest dog walker. The greatest nap taker. Whatever the reasons, be sure to tell that special person just how great they are!
The Tropical Escapes Designer Series Paper is the greatest, too. But what's better than great? How about AWESOME? Because the Tropical Escapes Designer Series Paper is part of the Buy 3/Get 1 FREE designer series paper sale, happening now through July 31. And I couldn't be happier because I'd decided way before the sale was announced that I was using the Tropical Escape Suite for July's Card Club! It's the perfect pattern for midsummer, too.

In the design world, a neutral color means something is without color. You can't tell me that Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, and Night of Navy are without color! The Stampin' Up! Neutrals Collection gives 'neutral' a whole new meaning. Like a little black dress, the Neutrals go with everything!
Speaking of little black dress, you may be wondering where Black went. It, along with Whisper White and Very Vanilla, have been moved to their own new color family: the Basics.
While the Neutrals & Basics play well with all the other colors families, they're also perfectly capable of standing alone.

August 2018 - Christmas Card Club Begins in August!!!
Wednesday night, I returned from my weekly torture session (ie., yoga) and found an message from my sister. She was at the urgent care with my brother-in-law. He'd fallen playing soccer with the kids in their cul-de-sac and torn his Achilles tendon. A trip to the orthopedist yesterday revealed it is a complete rupture and surgery will happen today to reattach it.
Bam! Just like that...Life happened. And you just have to roll with it. Life for the next few weeks and months will look different in their house. And they may regret, like so many of us when life happens, not having a bedroom or at least a full bath downstairs. Thankfully, school ended for my niece and nephew yesterday, and I've offered to fly out to California to help if needed.
Life...it just happens. And coffee certainly helps!

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I saw a similar design on Pinterest the other day and knew I had to give it a try. How did I not notice my wonky bow though when I was taking the photo? Argh...Guess it needs an extra glue dot before it gets mailed off.
You know by now that my favorite stamp set this spring was Petal Palette. You have no idea how glad I was to see it carrying over into the new catalog. You could have taken every stamp set off my shelves if I could just have kept this set for a little longer. (Thankfully, that didn't need to happen!) And while I love the sentiments from this set, nothing seemed to fit this card when it was finished. I scoured my shelves and came up with this one from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set. I haven't used that one very much, and thought this sentiment was somehow fitting.
This card really is one of those that's prettier in person. I watercolored the Flirty Flamingo background using my Wink of Stella glitter brush. Then, stamped the branches in Early Espresso. The overall effect was quite difficult to capture with the camera, though.
I will be in Washington DC this weekend visiting friends, so there won't be a Crafty Saturday Facebook Live this week. But please, stay tuned next week. We'll have to do a quick one before my monthly club comes at 10 . Yikes!
Happy weekend everyone! Be sure to post pictures on my Facebook page of what you're crafting this weekend. I'm taking my Paper Pumpkin on the train with me. That ought to be fun, don't you think?

My trip to California was pretty spontaneous. I bought my ticket just 3 days before I boarded a plane. I had lots of behind the scenes things go do to get ready on such short notice. This includes, making all my cards for my blogs for the week. I came across my pack of beautiful Petal Garden Memories and More cards and very quickly put together a lovely sympathy or thinking of you card in just a very few minutes. All I did was trim the edges and add a simple but heartfelt sentiment. It really doesn't need much more than that, to let someone know you're keeping them in your thoughts.
If you haven't tried making cards using a Memories and More card pack, let me know! I'd love to come make some with you. I also have full class tutorials for the Petal Garden and Sale-a- Bration Sweet Soiree Card Packs. Sweet, simple, but no less beautiful. Give theses Memories and More card packs a try.
