Out of all of the samples we saw at OnStage in November, I couldn't wait to get my own copy of Party Pandas from the 2018 Sale-a-Bration catalog. I just wanted to play with him! He's got such a round little tummy, and those great big eyes. Isn't he adorable? But...I told myself I couldn't play until I got all of my Christmas events completed. Well, guess what? I still have FOUR events this week, but I just couldn't wait. Last night, I cleaned off my desk and pulled this little guy out of the box.
The whole time I was thinking of my designs with him, I kept thinking I'd pair him with Bermuda Bay, but when I started opening my new packs of designer series papers, this heart pattern from the Bubble & Fizz Sale-a-Bration pack jumped right out at me. I love how the heart on the Panda's envelope echoes the hearts on the paper. So...instead of Bermuda Bay, I grabbed my Calypso Coral and got to work.
What is Sale-a-Bration?
Sale-a-Bration is my very favorite part of the Stampin' Up! year. Starting January, 3rd, with every $50 purchase, you can pick a Sale-a-Bration item for FREE out of the Sale-a-Bration catalog. As far as I'm concerned, it's even better than Christmas crafting! And part of the amazing benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, is being able to pre-order and use all of the new products at least a month ahead of everyone else. So, if you'd like to get a head start on ordering all of the new and exciting products coming in January, contact me today to join Stampin' Up! and my amazing team of Stamping Bees!
This card came together so quickly and I was so excited...I decided to do a video for you. It's raw and uncut, mainly because I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to edit my major blooper out in the middle. But, please watch the whole thing, because I give you an awesome tip for how to turn those two Silver Metallic Enamel Stars into Calypso Coral ones! (All measurements for the card are found under the video).
What do you think about coloring those shapes with the Blends? I love it! I can see lots of colors in my future!
RSVP by tomorrow, 12/7 sip a glass of wine and make these awesome "half full" wine cards.
New Year's Stampin' Bingo is one of my FAVORITE events of the year. Sign up by 12/15 so I can make sure all our prizes get here in time!
I'm so excited! I received an invitation last week from my friend and fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Brenda Quintana, asking if I'd like to be part of the blogging team at CASE-ing Tuesday. Every Tuesday, we CASE ("copy and share everything") cards from the Stampin' Up! catalog, putting our own unique and creative interpretation out there for others to view, enjoy, and even CASE. Sometimes, may may change a lot, and other times we may copy it directly out of the catalog.
This week, we were challenged to CASE this pretty card from the page 24 of the 2017 Holiday Catalog, which features the Merry Little Labels bundle and Quilted Christmas Paper. I took one look at it and thought, "Let's pair it up with the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper" and turned it into a black, white and silver showstopper. Although it's hard to see, I 'painted' the trees and deer with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, and then added Black and Silver Rhinestones to make the sky twinkle. I didn't even realize it at the time, but I used the larger star burst pattern as the background, which is mimicked in the smaller label on top of the snowflake with a smaller star burst pattern. It gave me a whole new appreciation of for that designer series paper I've been using all season!
Come play along with us! CASE-ing is a great way to improve your stamping and challenge yourself to try new styles. Create a card based on the above pattern and then post it on the Facebook Post. Or, if you post it elsewhere on Facebook, you can use the hashtag #CASEingtuesday123.

I stepped outside this morning and found a hard frost. That drives the dogs wild because their yard doesn't smell or look the same. Poor little Storm just looks at me, as if to say, "Why are you torturing me like this? Don't you know that grass is cold?"
Black Friday...you either love it or hate it. Me, I could care less since the best way to shop is online in my jammies. BUT, the Hubs loves it. We'll be married 11 years tomorrow and he attacks Black Friday like a strategic planner. He loves getting up early (as in 1-2 am) hitting the shops, bringing a load home, and heading out for more. I've always had a hot breakfast ready for him when he made his final return. In a way, it's rather like our own version of Santa and Mrs. Claus. (As I sit here, I'm even wearing my fuzzy red robe!)
This year, however, there is no Black Friday shopping frenzy. He started a new job at the Post Office this month, and he's working 14-hour days, 7 day a week. And the bulk of the packages and Christmas cards hasn't even hit yet! He went to bed last night a little dazed, muttering something about not being able to do any shopping today.
There's another 'first' in our home this year. It will be our first year that the Lad won't have a Christmas break. With his full time job in Charlotte, we're not sure what, if any, time he'll get off. So, my house will be empty and preparations for the holidays just don't feel the same. His Lady is going home for two weeks after finals, too, so he'll really be all alone as we get closer to Christmas. I can see I'll be making a few trips to Charlotte in December, just so we can be together.
Wishing you a very joyful start to your holiday season!
Just 1 day remains to register for the Final Christmas Card Club of 2017!

When your heart doesn't come home for the holiday, you travel to where your heart is.
This year, Thanksgiving isn't a frenzy of cooking and baking. The Lad has his first adult job and had to work Wednesday, and then again early Thursday morning. while we only live two hours apart, a four hour round trip just wasn't going to work out. So, what's a Momma to do? You gather the the rest of the family and go to him! So, instead of fighting the lines at the grocery and spending hours in the kitchen, we're in Charlotte and going out for Italian.
We'd all planned on coming down first thing Thanksgiving morning, but then, I got a text yesterday afternoon, "Do you want to come tonight? I'm not doing anything tonight." Of course I do! I threw some clothes in the car and hopped in the car to spend an evening with my son. We went out for Pad Thai and then just hung out out my hotel, visiting and looking at the lights of the shopping center below.
Family...whether you are gathered around grandma's table, bbq'ing, eating tamales, or eating lasagna. today is about being with those you love and counting your blessings.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
