Yesterday was the Stamping Bee monthly inspiration night. We met a week earlier than usual, since Mother's Day is next Sunday. We were a bit smaller group than normal as one of use was sick and one was out of town celebrating her mother's birthday. However, though were were small, we were mighty! We always have a monthly card swap, where we make enough cards to share with others. Not everyone participates, but it is quite fun and many of us really look forward to this opportunity to share. This month's theme was "Masculine Cards" . For most designers, the simplicity of a masculine design is quite challenging. I thought our cards were pretty amazing for such a difficult challenge. Dinner is also a big part of our inspiration night. Last night, to continue with the Cinco de Mayo festivities, I made chicken and black bean tacos. Everyone brought something to share. In addition to all the taco fixings, there was an amazing broccoli salad, a black bean and avocado salad, pound cake and strawberries, and uni-scotti. (Like biscotti, but only baked once). Sharing...it's what we do. From sharing a meal, to sharing our talents as artisans, to sharing business ideas, and our life stories. We gather together to share and rejoice in our friendship. I always tell people it's more than just making cards, it's about touching each other's lives. You can join us and our circle of sharing. Find out more about being a "Stamping Bee" by clicking here or by coming to our monthly inspiration nights. We meet every 2nd Sunday from 4:30-6:30, and first time visitors are free. We hope to see you there!
