PerIt may be October, but the roses in my garden are still in full bloom. Deep reds blossom in the front and back of the house. And just last night, as we ate dinner in hour fleeces on the screened porch, we watched moths flutter around them, drinking the last of summer's nectar.
I've always loved roses for their heady scent and beauty, but on the vine and cut in arrangements. The first rose bush my husband planted for me was in memory of a child, so desired, but lost too soon. We've moved that rosebush with us to this new house. It's a scraggly thing, but thriving in its new environment.
This paper is lovely, and speaks to the color, or language, of roses Here, the corals and lavender mean desire and enchantment, love at first sight. And aren't these cards enchanting? I can almost smell their sweet perfume. Perhaps I'll cut a few roses today, and fill the house with color and scents of summer.
