Chag Sameach! My first introduction to Passover was a young girl. At church one Sunday, the sermon was given by a young man from Jews for Jesus. As part of his talk, he called for a volunteer from the congregation. Naturally, I raised my hand. Little did I know that a Passover Seder had been prepared to be tasted. I don't remember much about it, but suffice it to say it was many years before I could eat raw horseradish again!
I feel privileged to have been asked to participate in this Passover Blog hop. Since Passover is a time of celebration, I thought I'd add some glimmer and sparkle to the cards today. I liked using the little hints of Bermuda Bay ink and paper with the black and white Inside the Lines Paper and Any Occasion Stamp Set from the Sale-a-Bration catalog make it feel like spring. This card one the favorite at my Stamping Bee team meeting this month, too.
This Friday's sketch challenge was rather fun. It takes very simple layers, and gives you a fun opportunity to showcase some of that designer series paper you have collected. It also gave me the chance to use the Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper and 3/8 Metallic Duo Ribbon from the Sale-a-Bration catalogs.

What a weekend! The Lad came home for less than 24 hour to celebrate his birthday. We had a fun night of dinner at the Soda Shoppe where he works during vacations and then, a late movie to see Logan. If you're an X-Men fan, you may be surprised at the ending. But those little baby mutants open up a whole new story line.
Here's a fun fact: Our Shih Tzu's, Charles and Storm, are named after X-Men characters Professor X (Charles Xavier) and Strom!
There Once the kids left and went back to school, the Hubs and I packed up the car and I headed to a card class. I find it's always nice to schedule a card class on the day the Lad goes back to school as it keeps my mind too busy to miss him.
Yesterday was a special day. It was the first class held by one of my downline members. She asked if I'd come help and so we split the class, each of us demonstrating 2 different cards. We used the Dragonfly Dreams bundle, and it was a big hit! There were 10 ladies, many of which were first time stampers. They loved using the Watercolor Pencils and Aqua Painters! And really, who wouldn't?
We brought lots of samples to share, including ideas for future classes. The hardest part of the day was trying to make sure their orders reached the $50 sweet spot and deciding which Sale-a-Bration item to choose! It was a great first class, and it sounds like a monthly group is in the making!
I'll be holding the Dragonfly Dreams Class again on Sunday April 9th, from 2-4 pm. Hope to see you there!

This is my Stamping Bee Friday Sketch Challenge card. It uses a very basic layout, and I chose to dress it up with some watercoloring and copper embossing powder. Although it still uses the same Lift Me Up bundle and Carried Away Paper that I've used all week, this is a much softer and more subtle approach.
Cutting and Measuring:
Base: Whisper White Thick Card stock 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Layer 1: Carried Away Designer Series Paper 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" (I covered the entire base)
Layer 2: Mint Macaron Card stock 4 1/4" x 3 1/4"
Layer 2: Whisper White Card stock 4" x 3"
This acrylic block watercoloring technique is pretty cool.
