Today we take the Lad back to university. While we - the hubs, the dogs, and I - miss him terribly while he's gone, his excitement and enthusiasm for the new year ahead permeates our home. We've had a terrific summer with him home and delight in the young adult he's become.
So, it was with a joyful heart that I made this card last night as the Lad and I finished the last two episodes of Season 6: Game of Thrones. We've been binge watching for several weeks, vowing to finish before the end of summer.
This card features the Wonderful Year stamp set from the 2016 Stampin' Up! holiday catalog. I love the large sentiment for making quick and easy cards - perfect for when you need a card in a hurry, or if you have a lot to make with little time. I heat embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder to added extra shine and texture. The background is from the Presents and Pinecones designer series paper. I had it all ready to adhere together, but something was missing. Adding a bit of Copper Thread pulled it all together, without distracting from the simplicity.
I better go get ready. Time to pack the cars and drive to Charlotte to see the new apartment and meet new roommates. Here's a Joyful and Joy-filled year!
