The sea, once it casts its spell,
holds one in its net of wonder forever.
~Jean Jaques Cousteau
It's true...the sea calls to me. When I'm weary and emotionally exhausted, I dream of going to the beach. Not to play in the waves or go swimming, but just to find a quiet spot and rest in the stillness. To soak up some sun, breathe the salt air, and just breathe.
Life gets busy and we tend to brush it aside until it consumes us. Things happen which turn our world upside down and it becomes of matter of survival. In fact, in times of crisis, I've found myself saying, I'm just trying to remember how to breathe.
And so, I fell in love at first sight with this Colorful Seasons Bundle out of the new 2017 catalog. The sentiment alone would have convinced me. And the Adirondack chair thinlit is pretty remarkable. The sea grass stamp, I borrowed from the High Tide set.
And what would a beach scene be without a little watercoloring. Read below for how I colored the image with a clear acrylic block.

I got the highest praise last night after I finished this card. I showed my son, who actually looked up from what he was doing, and said, "Oh, I like that one.". Usually, I just got , "Uh huh", so I guess I did something right this time!
Sometimes simple is best. And, true to my paper addiction, there is no stamping on this card! It's just paper. Even the balloons were die cut using the new Birthday Friends Framelits to cut out balloons from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper, and the sentiment is from the new Happy Birthday Thinlit. It's perfect for those last minute birthday cards.

Just 9 days until the new catalog comes out. Do you have yours? I'll be happy to mail you one, or come to my New Catalog BOGO event on June 3 to pick yours up and shop from my store.
Every quarter, I have a special day set aside to celebrate the success of my team members who promoted or grew their own teams during the previous quarter. As a special treat, they got to spend the whole day crafting in my studio with me.
I love spoiling my team! There was a complete card class using the Eastern Palace bundle, compliments of friend, Selene Kempton. There was also some additional goodies from the new catalog preorder, and a handmade journal.
We began our stamping day making cards from the new Soft Sayings kit. I can't wait to show you how beautiful these cards are in person! The kit is all inclusive, too, so that means you get ink, stamps, embellishments, pre cut card bases, and even water colored envelopes. The whole kit makes 20 beautiful cards. We just kept oohing and ahhing over each one as we finished it.
Then we took a break for lunch at the Breakaway Cafe . It was nice to sit, visit, and get to know each other a little better. The rest of the afternoon was spent learning some water coloring techniques that I had taught last year, and putting together the card class. It really was a fun day and the time just flew by.
Crafting is so much more fun with a friend! Would you like to come craft with us? Is your wish list over $125? Then consider joining my Stamping Bee Team! We meet on the 2nd Sunday of the month to inspire, delight, and share. Plus, you could earn a fun day crafting with me, too! Contact me today for more information.

It's hard to believe...but May 22 is the last day that retiring stamp sets are guaranteed in stock. After that, they are on a "limited to stock on hand" basis. I thought I'd showcase just a few of my absolute favorites, before it's too late.
Don't wait until it's to late. Be sure to order your favorite set before it's gone!

My grandmother, who's birthday was today, was a stickler for us sending thank you cards for all gifts received for holidays and special occasions. I remember feeling so guilty when, months after my wedding, she mentioned, "Aunt Mary told me she never received a thank you card from you." To this day, every time I use my favorite paring knife, I think of Aunt Mary, my grandmother, and that thank you card!
It's been a very busy month and I found myself needing a new stack of thank you cards. I wanted something cheerful and summery and the new Delightful Daisy Daisy Designer Series Paper (available June 1) is just the perfect thing. I really like this bigger patterns for creating quick, simple cards. it really doesn't get much easier than this! The hardest part is going to be sitting down and addressing all of them!
I send thank you cards each month to everyone who attends a class or makes a purchase from me. So, you should be watching your mailbox for your own very special thank you!
