It was hard to get out of bed this morning. My family has been here from California for two weeks and I've spent every night over at my parents house, visiting and playing. It's been great having them here and we try to cram in as much time together as possible before they go home again. California is just too far away! It's sad that they have to leave today, since it's my parents 52 wedding anniversary.
Family...it's what holds us together. No matter where we are, when we're together, it feels like 'home'. And August's Paper Pumpkin had just the right sentiments to express how thankful and grateful I am to my family and friends. In good times and bad, I know that they are there for me, just as I am for them.
August's Paper Pumpkin made gift bags and tags, and September's is full of spooky fun! The Bone Appétit kit is just what you need 20 food-safe treat boxes, with a unique and exclusive Halloween stamp set, all packaged in a spooky, special-edition box. Subscribe by September 10th for to receive yours in the mail, then craft along with me later in the month.
And now...for that Giveaway announcement you've been waiting for! I'm giving away 2 full kits of today's projects. That's right, everything (but the stamps and ink) that you need to make today's cards and gift boxes, will be mailed to you next week. Today on my Facebook Live, I finished my July Paper Pumpkin Series by making 3 more cards. This time, I used the Woven Threads Paper from the kit, and added stamps from the Woven Heirlooms set. This Paper Pumpkin has been so much fun to play with . I liked having the three different patterns in the kit for added variety.
If you haven't already signed up for Paper Pumpkin, now is the best time to do it. You won't want to miss a single holiday kit. Speaking of kits, the August kit makes gift bags and tags. I have to say, I'm really having fun with this month's Paper Pumpkin. Three different themes...three cards each...that give me a chance to make three different cards. One that follows the directions, because I like to follow the rules. One that is a variation on the same general theme. And then one, that is totally different all together. Which one is your favorite? Mine is the one on the far right! I simply flipped the card inside out, and used the white card base instead of the stripes.
Paper Pumpkin is great for all levels of crafting, from beginners to the most avid crafters. My very first order Stampin' Up!, included subscriptions to Paper Pumpkin - one for me and one for my sister as a Christmas present. It was fun to make them 'together' - her in California and me here in North Carolina - and then share pictures of what we'd made over Facebook.
My July "On My Mind" Paper Pumpkin came while I was in Greece. I was happy to see such a box this month. It's really a sampling of 3 different suites from the main catalog: Garden Lane, Come Sail Away, and Woven Threads. I knew I didn't want to make 3 of the same card, so I decided to play.
I started with the Garden Lane Suite first. The first card is exactly as it's seen in the kit. The next one uses all the kit elements + Stitched Rectangles Dies. For the third, I got a little fancy. I added the bird image and sentiment from the Free as a Bird Stamp Set, blending the Pretty Peacock ink with a Blender Pen and adding a little Mango Melody to his beak with a Stampin' Write Marker. Such fun!
Which one do you like better? Tomorrow...I'll show you 3 ideas using the Come Sail Away products found in July's Paper Pumpkin.
