Today's Coffee and Cards Facebook Live took us back to basic card making. When you first begin paper crafting, the hardest part - at least for me - was knowing the measurements. Knowing not only the numbers and proportions, but also how to maximize and not waste paper was crucial to my happiness and success as a paper crafter. And that's really the brainchild behind Coffee & Cards. It's weekly back-to-basics online class for paper crafters of all levels.
Today, we focused on cutting basic card layers with a 1/4" margin using the new Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper (available June 3). When using a 1/4" margin, you simply keep your proportions for the layers the same, subtracting 1/4" from length and width with each subsequently smaller layer. A 6-layer card for example, would have the following proportions:
